Workshops
I
also
run
workshops
for
those
who
would
like
to
write
their
story
themselves,
but
need
a
bit
of
help
to
get
started,
or
perhaps
revive
a
project
that
got
stuck.
Writing
your
story
can
be
incredibly
therapeutic,
even
if
no-one’s
ever
going
to
read
it
but you.
Part 1 Planning and Organising
Telling
every
detail
of
your
life
story
would
take
.
.
.
a
lifetime!
And
more
than
likely
make
your
reader
put
the
book
down
within
a
few
pages.
So
in
a
Write
your
Own
Life
Story
Workshop
we
start
with
how
to
make
those
important
decisions
about
what
to
include
and
what
to
leave
out,
and
how
to
structure
your
narrative
in
a
way
that
will
make
your
reader
want
to
keep turning the page.
Part 2: Bringing your story to life
The
best
memoirs
bring
the
author’s
story
to
life
on
the
page,
immersing
the
reader
in
the
story,
just
like
a
novel.
So
Part
2
of
the
workshop
introduces
a
range
of
techniques
drawn
from
fiction writing such as how to use sensory details and dialogue.
A
‘
Write
your
own
Life
Story’
workshop
is
packed
with
practical
activities
and
useful
information
to
help
you
elevate
your
story
beyond
a
dry
account
of
the
facts
to
a
compelling
story
that
your
family
and
friends
won’t
be
able
to
put
down.
The workshop is divided into two parts:
