From your initial enquiry to receiving a set of beautifully printed books of your life story
Stage 2 - Interviews
If you decide to go ahead, you’ll pay a deposit and we’ll schedule the interviews according to the package you’ve chosen. They can be carried out at your home or by video call. The interviews will be recorded so I can capture your authentic voice. I can h elp you choose photographs to include in your book or you can choose theem yourself. If the interviews are in person I’ll scan them at your home; if we’re working by video call you’ll need to scan them yourself. I can offer you advice about doing this or you may prefer to have them scanned by a local printer.
Next I create an outline of your story and write a sample chapter. When you’re happy with this I write the complete draft text of your story. You then check it and make any revisions you wish to at this point before it goes to a proofreader for a final check.
Once your book is typeset and photographs inserted I’ll send you a proof to check. The book cover is designed and, once everything’s approved, off it goes to the printer. Very soon you’ll have four beautiful copies of your biography to keep and share with your family! Also included in the price of each package is a digital copy of your book in pdf format.

What will my books look like? They’ll be printed on high quality 130gsm silk paper, giving a pleasing reading experience and crisp, clear photographs and text. They have a hardback cover with wraparound image, head and tail ribbons to protect the spine, and a marker ribbon. Most books have a photograph of their author (that’s you!) on the cover, but other designs are also possible. There’s more information about the books here Can I order extra copies? Of course! Each package comes with four copies included in the price, but you can order more at any time Is the first session really free? Yes! We’ll be working very closely together on your book, so I want you to be sure right from the start that you’ve made the right choice We’ll agree a schedule at the beginning of the process, but from the time you sign a contract to receiving your books, it usually takes four to six months, depending on factors such as your availability for interviews and the package you’ve chosen How long will it take to make my book?
